The American Water Works Association (AWWA, www.awwa.org) is offering a webcast on best practices for using asset management maintenance programs to assess water storage tank condition. The webcast, titled "Water Storage Tanks: Operations and Maintenance", is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST on Dec. 10. It will cover the components of a water storage tank condition assessment and water storage tank asset management programs. Additional topics will include examining the pros and cons of traditional tank maintenance procurement methods, as well as asset management programs, and managing water quality within the water storage tank.

Webcast presenters include:
• Mark H. Johnson, P.E., Director of Metropolitan Water Operations and Maintenance at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). Mr. Johnson will provide operational experiences at the utility as examples. He has over 30 years experience in design, construction and operations.
• Randy L. Moore, Vice President, Sales, for the Northern Region at Utility Service Company, Inc. (USCI), who has worked in the water industry specializing in potable water storage tanks for the last 24 years.
