High demand for reuse technology due to population growth will drive the market for wastewater treatment equipment in the United States past the $1.3 billion mark by 2011, according to a study by research firm Frost & Sullivan (www.frost.com).

The study, titled “U.S. Wastewater Treatment Equipment Markets,” predicts wastewater equipment will nearly double its $774.4 million level in 2004 by 2011, as the rising cost of water, a booming population, and tighter environmental regulations are forcing facilities to strongly consider investment in new wastewater treatment technologies.
