The Hydraulic Institute (HI) is now accepting registrations for its 2010 Market Outlook Workshop. Registration can be completed via the HI website at www.Pumps.org/MarketOutlook. The annual event, organized by the Valve Manufacturers Association, will take place in San Francisco on August 12-13, providing attendees with current and specific market insights on both the valve and pump industries. Prior to the event, on August 11, HI will host the HI Market Intelligence Committee meeting and reception dinner for pump industry analysts associated with HI member companies.

The two-day Workshop will be held at the Marriott Union Square Hotel and will feature presentations from industry and economic leaders on trends in a number of diverse marketplaces and economies.

Expert presenters will focus on specific market sectors; they include: Water/Wastewater – Tom Decker, Vice President, CH2M Hill; Pulp and Paper – Todd Stroup, Assurance Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers; Power – David Wagman, Chief Editor, Power Engineering; Nuclear – Tom Harrison, Chief Editor, McGraw-Hill/Platts Nuclear Group; Oil and Gas – John Spears, President, Spears & Associates; Petrochemical – Mark Eramo, Executive Vice President, CMAI; Mining – Steve Ralbovsky, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers; and Hydrocarbon Processing – Mark Peters, Vice President/Group Publisher, PennWell Co.

Workshop highlights also include a "Wall Street Perspective" presentation by Michael Halloran, Vice President, Robert W. Baird & Company; an "International Economic Outlook" by Gary Schlossberg, Senior Economist, Wells Fargo; and a special market feature on "Brazil" by Jerry Owen, President, Intrix Americas. As in prior years, the popular economist, Alan Beaulieu of the Institute for Trend Research will discuss "Domestic Economic Outlook."
