2015 Flow Control Innovation Award Winner: ASCO 364 Series Stainless Steel Spool Valves —By ASCO Numatics

Oil and gas exploration and production companies demand rugged and ultra-reliable products for use in harsh environments. Typical wellhead control panels that are used in oil and gas exploration are installed either offshore or in remote onshore locations. Compact, reliable, corrosion-resistant designs are critical requirements for OEMs that supply the equipment used in these applications.

ASCO’s new 364 Series incorporates 316L stainless steel construction and ASCO’s proven solenoid technology for the greatest corrosion resistance and highest reliability in harsh upstream environments. ASCO manufactures its own solenoids and subjects them to a rigorous testing program. This results in the high reliability—an essential benefit for products installed on upstream oil and gas production platforms operating in harsh environments.

The 364 Series spool valves include low-power (.055 watt, 1.4 watt, and 1.8 watt) solenoid options for energy efficiency and use with alternative energy sources. These low-power options can handle pressures up to 200 PSI and temperatures up to 200 F.

The 364 Series is offered with solenoid options that meet ATEX/IECEx and UL/CSA hazardous location approval requirements, which make it ideal for global applications. Valves are offered in a wide range of manual, pneumatic, and solenoid options. The product line is backed up by ASCO’s easy-to-reach, comprehensive global technical and application support and is available via ASCO’s SAME-DAY and ASCO 5-Day quick-shipping programs.
