Rotork Acquires Bifold Group to Increase Global Presence

Actuator manufacturer and flow control company Rotork has acquired the Bifold Group Ltd. Bifold is a designer and manufacturer of hydraulic and pneumatic stainless-steel directional control valves and accessories for hazardous, corrosive, and subsea environments.

Bifold also provides electronic control and positioning systems and offers expertise for valves and pumps used in hazardous upstream and downstream oil and gas applications. The company has special expertise in wellhead control systems.

"The acquisition of Bifold represents an exciting step forward in the continued development of Rotork Instruments," Peter France, Rotork chief executive, said. "This strategic acquisition is directly in line with our core strategy of strengthening Rotork’s presence in the flow control sector and broadening our product portfolio."

Bifold, which is headquartered in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, U.K., began in the 19th century mining industry and has evolved into its current work as a manufacturer of instrument valves and accessories for the oil, gas and wider industrial markets.

"The combination of Bifold’s extensive product portfolio and leading technology with Rotork’s international sales network and geographic reach will significantly strengthen our presence across the global flow control market," France said.
