Flowserve”sLimitorque MX smart electronic valve actuator is designed to provideusers with predictable, reliable, and safe operation in rigorous andextreme applications. The actuator includes a patented absolute encoderthat does not require battery backup, patented LimiGard circuitprotection technology, menus in six languages, and hall-effect devicesto eliminate potentially troublesome reed switches. Actuators areavailable for torques up to 1700 ft-lb (2307 N m) and thrust ratings upto 75,000 lb (333 kN). Enhancements to theMX include a patented absolute encoder with increased span, improveddiagnostics capability, and built-in self-test (BIST). The BIST featureis designed into a state-of-the-art controls platform that verifies andvalidates the integrity of its components, a design that aids companiesin meeting the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) requirements of IEC 61508.A new MX feature is MX Quik™, an uninterrupted power transfer optionduring main power losses. The actuator is configurable for up to onehour of Quik power, which is recharged for the next unforeseen poweroutage once main power is restored. DeviceNet communication optionscomplement Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus H1, Profibus DP_V1, and ProfibusPA. The actuator features an LCD display, which can be rotated 180degrees. Bluetooth wireless connectivity is optional, offering a rangeup to 10 meters.
