Omega Engineering’sLVRD500 radar transmitters are designed for noncontact liquid levelmeasurement and are being touted as a logical extension of thecompany’s line of ultrasonicsensors. They are a good fit for applications where vapor, dust, or afoaming surface preventsultrasonic measurement. The LVRD500’s radar sensor uses microwave pulsetechnology to track target liquids from the antenna tip to the bottomof a tank. This advanced “echo marker” signal processing provides areliable, continuous-pulse shape unaffected by environmentalconditions.RS-232 and RS-485 models are available.
