KROHNE to display innovative measuring instruments at American School of Gas and Measurement Technology

Aug. 31, 2023
KROHNE will display its leading products, including the ALTOSONIC V12 ultrasonic gas flowmeter and SUMMIT 8800 Flow Computer.

Beverly, MA (KROHNE release) — KROHNE, Inc. is bringing its innovative gas measurement instruments to the American School of Gas and Measurement Technology (ASGMT), the largest gas-measurement school devoted to natural gas measurement, pressure regulation, flow control and other measurement-related areas.

The event will take place from September 11-14 at the Marriott Houston Westchase Exhibit Hall in Houston, Texas. Amid more than 175 petroleum, natural gas or liquid-related companies, KROHNE will display its leading products, including the ALTOSONIC V12 ultrasonic gas flowmeter and SUMMIT 8800 Flow Computer.

Visitors will be able to view KROHNE’s ALTOSONIC V12 ultrasonic gas flowmeter. The flowmeter offers high accuracy, making it ideal for custody transfer applications. The ALTOSONIC V12 has 12 measuring chords, two of which are solely dedicated to diagnostic functions. Once commissioned, it continuously checks the operating status. The positioning of the chords in five horizontal parallel planes compensates for swirl and thus, provides reliable measurements, even with highly distorted flow profiles. The diagnostics in the ALTOSONIC V12 can reliably assess deposits, contamination or changes in wall roughness, so that maintenance can be scheduled according to actual needs.

Also on display will be KROHNE’s SUMMIT 8800, a flow computer with M.C. approval for gas flow measurement. The SUMMIT 8800 unites custody transfer, fiscal and allocation metering within a single flow computer. Exceeding expectations, the SUMMIT 8800 achieves optimization at all levels, enhancing communication options, speed of access, calculation, and operation. This flow computer is mechanically sealable with a hardware lock-out. Specifically, it is equipped with an approved Self-Contained (Type A) event logger for separate security levels within one device. Its cables are also sealed and cannot be disconnected.
