Fluid Components International Celebrates 50 years of Business

Fluid Components International (FCI), provider of flow, level, and temperature measurement technology since 1964, is celebrating 50 years in business with a rededicated spirit to providing its customers with advanced instrumentation, superior quality, and excellent value. Founded in 1964 by California engineers Malcolm “Mac” McQueen and Bob Deane, FCI initially found success in the oil/gas industry. FCI was the first company to develop a robust thermal flow switch to detect low flowrates in stripper wells.

Fike’s Tom Farrell Earns William H. Doyle Award for Paper Presented at Loss Prevention Symposium

Tom Farrell, Senior Test Engineer for Fike Corporation, has earned the prestigious William H. Doyle award. Given annually since 1984, the William H. Doyle award recognizes the best paper presented at the previous year's Loss Prevention Symposium. Information contained in the submission must have applicability to the chemical industry and add substantial knowledge to the field of loss prevention. The winning paper, Dust Flame Propagation in Industrial Scale Piping, Part I: Empirical Study in a Conveying Vessel-Pipeline System was presented at last year's symposium.

Flow-Cal’s President & CEO Recognized as a ‘Who’s Who in Energy’

Flow-Cal, Inc.’s president and CEO, Michael Squyres, has been recognized by the Houston Business Journal as a “Who’s Who in Energy.” They “Who’s Who in Energy” honor recognizes influential thought leaders in the U.S. energy market. Squyres has over 25 years of experience in designing and developing both gas and liquid measurement software applications. As the president and CEO of Flow-Cal, Inc., he has worked directly with SCADA, meter manufacturers, and standards organizations to pioneer better ways to validate, calculate and report measurement data.

Power Management Company Plans to Expand Filtration Division Facility in NJ

Power management company, Eaton, plans to expand its Filtration Division facility located Tinton Falls, NJ. The updated facility will have three state-of-the-art laboratories for industrial water, life science, and hydraulic applications, as well as additional office space, a new training center, and room for Eaton’s fleet of rental filtration trial units. The expansion, totaling 7,000 square feet, is scheduled to be completed by June.

Thompson Pump Recognizes James Copeland as 2013 Branch Manager of the Year

Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Company recognized James Copeland as its 2013 Branch Manager of the Year. James Copeland is the branch manager of Thompson’s Summerville, S.C., branch location, where he oversees branch operations and manages branch personnel, and is also heavily involved in providing pump rentals, sales, and support to 26 counties throughout South Carolina. Through his leadership, he has streamlined the branch’s operations, enhanced customer service in the region, and exceeded growth targets. Additionally, Copeland’s branch received the Thompson Pump President’s Award for Excellence in Health & Safety for outstanding achievements in those categories, as evidenced by zero OSHA recordable incidents for three consecutive years 2011-2013.
