Dover Realigns Pump Businesses Into 3 Focused Companies/Names New Leaders

Dover Corporation’s Fluids Segment has realigned its Pumps businesses, along with product line technologies, into three separate operating companies—Pump Solutions, Finder and Maag. Karl Buscher was named president of Pump Solutions, which will be comprised of the following brands: Wilden, Blackmer, Neptune, Almatec, Mouvex, Griswold, Ebsray, and Quattroflow.  Ueli Thuerig was named president of Maag. This business will consist of Maag Pump Systems, Automatik Pelletizing Systems and Maag Filtration Systems and will be based in Zurich, Switzerland. Lorenzo Barberi was named acting president of Finder, which designs and manufactures API-engineered pumps and systems for the global energy market, primarily oil & gas.  Finder is based in Merate, Italy.

Murata & Yokogawa Team Up on Development of ISA100 Wireless Communication Modules

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced they will cooperate in the development of communication modules for field wireless devices used in plants. Under the terms of this agreement, Yokogawa will license its technology to Murata and Murata will develop the communication modules.Through this alliance, Murata will be able to expand its communication module business to wireless devices for use in plants and Yokogawa will be able to promote wider acceptance of its field wireless systems based on the ISA100 Wireless standard, the announcement said.

SKF Solution Factory Opens in Birmingham, Ala.

SKF has opened a new SKF Solution Factory in the Birmingham, Ala. area, a venue designed to equip customers with value-added solutions and industry knowledge. This new facility is the third to open in the United States, joining a growing network of five others in North America.The new venue provides access to SKF’s technical resources for machine productivity solutions. The facility offers a range of services, including bearing application support, customized machined sealing solutions, mechanical equipment services, engineering consultancy, remote diagnostics and monitoring, and training courses and seminars.The facility is located at 2575 U.S. Hwy 78, in Moody Ala. The other SKF Solution Factories in the United States are located in Houston and Cleveland.

SPX Extends Agreement with Krilinex for the Supply of ClydeUnion Pumps 

SPX, a manufacturer of flow technology solutions, has extended its agreement with the Spanish Krilinex Power Solutions, for the supply of its ClydeUnion Pumps products. Krilinex Power Solutions, located in Bilbao, Spain, has successfully represented the SPX Cooling Technologies and Copes Vulcan brands for several years. This strategic partnership will increase Krilinex’s relevance and portfolio to its customer base through a new product offering that is well aligned with its existing business, according to an SPX announcement.

McCrometer Announces New President/Chief Flow Tech Exec

McCrometer, a provider of flow measurement and wireless solutions, has promoted Melissa Aquino to the role of president, effective Oct. 1, 2014. She most recently served as Vice President, Marketing and Human Resources Director. Additionally, she served as General Manager for McCrometer CONNECT™. Aquino’s appointment is part of an executive transition that includes prior president, Kerry McCall, moving into the role of Chief Flow Technology Executive. McCall served as president of McCrometer for 28 years. In his new role, he will be responsible for the continued expansion of McCrometer’s flow technology capabilities and evaluating new business opportunities. 

‘MythBuster’ Joins Bimba as Director of Strategic Planning

Jamie Hyneman, president of M5 Industries, is joining actuation technology provider Bimba Manufacturing. Their affiliation will be officially announced during a press conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 at PACK EXPO International, Room S405B, McCormick Place, Chicago. Hyneman is best known for his work on the popular cable television program MythBusters,” but he has also been very active designing and prototyping a variety of innovative robotics platforms and will serve Bimba as Director of Strategic Development. In this role he will consult and collaborate on strategic initiatives that are key to the fluid power industry’s future, Bimba said.

FSA Appoints Mahoney as VP of Board of Directors

The Fluid Sealing Association appointed Phil Mahoney as vice president of its Board of Directors. Mahoney is currently the Design Engineering Manager for Compression Packing and Mechanical Seals for the A.W. Chesterton Company in Groveland, Mass. Mahoney currently serves the FSA as vice chair of the Membership Committee, as well as a member of the Government Affairs Working Group, the Marketing Committee, and the Technical Coordinating Committee. He is the past Chair of the Compression Packing Division and the Compression Packing Technical Committee. He has been active in the FSA since 2004.      

AW-Lake Company Restructures Management

AW-Lake Company, flow instrumentation manufacturer, continues to reshape its management team in response to the growing business. Mark Iverson has been promoted to general manager of the company, reporting to Flow Division president, John McKenna. In his new role, Iverson will be responsible for increasing market share and leading the future direction of the company. Iverson has has played a critical role in the development of the TRICOR Coriolis product line, providing technical leadership in product line management, as well as business leadership. Other strategic personnel added within the last quarter are: Colby Lemmons, Director of Sales, and Robert Cobb, Business Development Manager, Oil & Gas Industry.

NewAge Industries Promotes Allard to Director of Sales

NewAge Industries has promoted Michael R. Allard to Director of Sales. A four-year employee, Allard previously held the role of Global Sales Manager for the company’s AdvantaPure high purity products division. In his new position Allard will oversee sales for NewAge Industries’ industrial tubing and hose and for AdvantaPure’s biopharmaceutical tubing and Single-Use technologies.

Fortis CEO Honored With '40 Under 40' Title

Fortis Energy Services Inc.
, an oil and gas well services provider headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., announced that CEO Nathan Conway has been selected as a 2014 “40 Under 40” honoree by Crain’s Detroit Business. The award recognizes 40 business leaders under age 40 who have made major advancements in their respective fields. Under Conway’s leadership, Fortis has been recognized as one of the top 100 Energy Companies in the U.S. and one of the Fastest Privately Held Companies by Inc. Magazine. Fortis Energy Services is currently a finalist for the “Rising Star Company” award in the  Platt’s Global Energy Award competition.
