GTI adds personnel with energy firm acquisition

Gas Technology Institute (GTI) subsidiary GTI International acquired BKi, a professional energy services and consulting firm that serves energy efficiency, energy supply and alternative transportation markets. The acquisition adds 100 energy professionals to better serve GTI clientele as the company delivers energy efficiency solutions across diverse markets.

Brewery adds Rockwell EtherNet/IP solution

South African Breweries (SAB) added a fully automated and networked EtherNet/IP-based control system from Rockwell Automation for its new maltings plant in Alrode, South Africa. The system will integrate all of the plant’s malt-production processes into one solution. Once complete in 2016, the plant will account for more than half of the malt production for the company’s South African and Namibian breweries.

Partnership gives American Control Electronics West Coast visibility

Through a new partnership with Applied Mechatronics, American Control Electronics (ACE) will receive coverage of its products from five West Coast offices. Applied Mechatronics is based in California.

New Trammo world headquarters complete

Trammo, which merchandises, trades and ships ammonia, energy products, liquefied petroleum gas, fertilizers, raw materials and other chemicals around the world, has a new 19,000-square-foot world headquarters in Manhattan in New York City. Trammo was the largest privately held company in the New York area in 2014.

Montroy Andersen DeMarco built the new office, which includes a clean office design, public space, reception area and a commodities trading room.

LUDECA hopes to diversify product offerings with new partnerships

LUDECA entered into a partnership with EASY-LASER to support sales of precise last systems. It also partnered with SDT Ultrasound Solutions to offer products for leak and fault detection and optimized bearing lubrication. LUDECA continues to sell Pruftechnik slignment and condition monitoring systems, as well as produce technical support.

OxyChem to undertake $145M plant expansion

Occidential Chemical Corp.’s (OxyChem) Geismar, Louisiana, facility will undergo a $145 million expansion project, which includes the addition of equipment to produce a new raw materials used in next-generation, climate-friendly refrigerants. The proejct will genereate 12 jobs with average salaries of $80,000 per year. Another 37 indirect jobs should also be added.

Construction is expeted to end in late 2017. The company may use Louisiana’s Quality Jobs and Industrial Tax Exemption incentive programs.

Trelleborg appoints Americas marketing executive

Linda Muroski joined the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions team as president of marketing Americas. She previously worked with BASF for 16 years, where she held her most recent role as director of water solutions, North America.

Petrochemical complex names plant manager

Timothy A. Albert will serve as plant manager of ALTIVIA Petrochemical Complex in Haverhill, Ohio. The facility produces phenol, acetone, alpha-methyl styrene and Bisphenol A. Albert most recently served as plant manager of the Chemours Sulfuric Acid Refinery Solutions facility in Linden, New Jersey.

Flow calibration lab under new management

Polycontrols Technologies management will be shared by Sylvan Desaulniers and his partners, Laboratory Manager Jean-Pierre Bessette and Sales Director Martin Richer. The largest flow calibration laboratory in Canada, Polycontrols offers engineering services and manufactures customer gas panels, flow meters and valves.
