Midland Manufacturing (www.midlandmfg.net), a provider of railroad tank car safety valves and equipment, will unveil its Valve Remanufacturing Facility on Thur., May 1, with an open house at the company’s headquarters in Skokie, Ill.

The facility will support Midland’s Valve Remanufacturing Program, which is designed to re-qualify and restore Midland rail tank car valves and provide data to manage planned maintenance intervals. The remanufacturing process includes cleaning, disassembly, and inspection of each valve; followed by any necessary re-machining and component replacement; then reassembly, testing, and recertification. Midland also keeps records of the condition of each valve received and a comprehensive repair history.
