ISA (www.isa.org) submitted three control valve standards to ANSI (www.ansi.org) for approval as American National Standards. The standards apply to flanged globe-style control valves and buttweld-end, globe-style control valves.

ISA-75.08.01 (reaffirmation of ANSI/ISA-75.08.01-2002), “Face-to-Face Dimensions for Integral Flanged Globe-Style Control Valve Bodies (Classes 125, 150, 250, 300, and 600),” is one of the standards that has been submitted. This standard applies to integral flanged globe-style control valves, sizes 15 mm (1/2 inch) through 400 mm (16 inches), having top, top and bottom, port, or cage guiding. The standard is designed to aid users in their piping design by providing Class 125 flat face, and Classes 150, 250, 300, and 600 raised face, flanged control valve dimensions, without giving special consideration of the equipment manufacturer to be used.

The second standard in the group is ISA-75.08.05 (reaffirmation of ANSI/ISA-75.08.05-2002), “Face-to-Face Dimensions for Buttweld-End Globe-Style Control Valves (Classes 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500).” This standard applies to buttweld-end, globe-style control valves, sizes 15 mm through 450 mm for Classes 150 through 2500. The standard is designed to support piping designs by providing buttweld-end, globe-style control valve dimensions, regardless of manufacturer.

A third standard was also submitted for approval. ISA-75.08.06 (reaffirmation of ANSI/ISA-75.08.06-2002), “Face-to-Face Dimensions for Flanged Globe-Style Control Valve Bodies (Classes 900, 1500, and 2500).” Focuses on flanged globe-style control valves, sizes 15 mm (1/2 inch) through 450 mm (18 inches), having top, top and bottom, port, or cage guiding. The standard is designed to help users in their piping design by providing Classes 900, 1500, and 2500, flanged globe-style control valve dimensions, without giving special consideration to the equipment manufacturer to be used.
