Honeywell to Engineer Mongolia”s Largest Fuel Terminal

Petrovis LLC, the largest petroleum provider in Mongolia, has contracted with Honeywell Process Solutions for technology and engineering services to improve the efficiency and safety of a newly constructed fuel

Petrovis LLC, the largest petroleum provider in Mongolia, has contracted with Honeywell Process Solutions for technology and engineering services to improve the efficiency and safety of a newly constructed fuel depot near the capital, Ulaanbaatar. Upon completion of the upgrade, the fully automated terminal will become Mongolia’s largest and is expected to help meet rising demand for petroleum products, particularly in the mining and transportation sectors.

Technologies being used as part of the project include Honeywell”s Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS), OneWireless solution and Digital Video Manager. In addition Petrovis will install the Enraf Tank Gauging System to control, measure and monitor tank farms; fire alarm and gas detection system to improve safety and security; and a Truck/Rail Car Loading System to streamline the logistical distribution of fuel. Honeywell is also providing front-end engineering design and consulting services for this project.
