Max-Air Technology”s Glass Reinforced Polypropylene (GRPP) actuators are an extension of the company’s Engineered Polymer line of actuators. The units are produced in a reinforced polypropylene material, which is designed to extend the chemical-resistance boundaries of the technopolymer line of products. Polypropylene offers enhanced resistance to many alcohols, common acids, salts, and other chemical solutions. The actuators are produced in three sizes in both double-acting and spring-return configurations. The torque output (with 80 PSI air supply) is rated up to 500 in–lbs double acting and over 300 in–lbs spring return. The units also come standard with all the features and benefits of the Max-Air Engineered Polymer line including:

  • ISO 5211 valve mounting interfaces

  • NAMUR accessory mounting interfaces for solenoid valves, limit switches, and positioners

  • Stainless steel fasteners for extreme corrosion resistance

  • High cycle bearings and wear pads

The product was developed in response to the needs of the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing industries where chemical attack on valve automation parts and products is an issue. The actuators provide enhanced corrosion protection at a lower cost and weight than stainless steel.
