Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems), and GF Machining Solutions, both part of Switzerland-based Georg Fischer LTD, will celebrate the grand opening of their new Irvine, Calif. facilities on Oct. 9, 2014.
The 105,000 square-foot Irvine campus at 9271 Jeronimo Road includes office and work space for more than 100 employees, sales, engineering and technical support, custom manufacturing, training facilities, warehouse, an application demonstration room showcasing working product examples in several real life-like settings, machine demonstration space, and an extensive spare parts supply.
Among the demonstration room applications is a grocery store refrigerator case filled with products that use GF’s COOL-FIT® ABS Plus Piping System, which is designed for indirect cooling in breweries, wineries (and other beverages), food production, dairies, supermarkets and air conditioning. Beer from breweries using the COOL-FIT system will be served at the event. Other life-like product demonstrations include an aquarium; a cruise ship lavatory compartment; a pharmaceutical laboratory sink; a deionized water skid; and a chemical plant tank. Machines to be featured at the event include the newest technology in 3 and 5Axis High speed and high-performance machining centers, the latest EDM and System 3R tooling, and Automation Technology.
Heading up GF Piping Systems is James Jackson, the Head of Business Unit Americas. “GF already has a significant U.S. footprint with many locations across the country,” says Jackson. “Our new larger facilities will allow us to increase our presence on the West Coast by providing additional custom manufacturing, training capabilities and expanded personnel.”
According to Glynn Fletcher, president GF Machining Solutions Americas, the new Irvine location will further strengthen customer service. “We want to provide extraordinary service and support for our Western Region customers,” says Fletcher. “We are investing in the resources to ensure that this is the case. The opening of this superb facility reinforces that commitment.”
