George Fischer Inc. (www.us.piping.georgefischer.com) received NSF 14 and NSF 61 approvals for its PVC manual Type 546 ball valve with EPDM seals and associated actuated valve versions. NSF 14 certification verifies health and product performance for potable water, applicable ASTM standards, and quality-control processes. NSF 61, a requirement of NSF 14, establishes a minimum requirement for the control of potential adverse health effects from product in contact with potable water.

The Type 546 Ball Valve features a short overall length, buttress thread design, and a universal multi-function module. The Type 546 Ball Valve family is NSF-approved in PVC and also available in CPVC, ßeta-PP (polypropylene), and PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) in sizes 3/8" to two inches. Material options support such applications as water and wastewater treatment, chemical processing, semiconductor, food and beverage, electroplating, and metal.
