Emerson Process Management”s PlantWeb University (www.plantwebuniversity.com), an online educational offering for engineers, is providing 19 new courses on wireless instrumentation solutions for the process manufacturing industries. The courses, available free of charge, are designed for anyone who uses automation to improve plant performance.

Five additional courses are expected soon, and all 24 courses will later be translated into Spanish and Chinese. According to Emerson, the new courses will help plant operators understand the basics of wireless technology, what it can do for them, and how they can put it to work in their own operations.
Each course can be completed in about 15 minutes on the PlantWeb University Web site.

Subject matter includes: what is wireless; wireless standards; wireless myths; self-organizing networks; and wireless applications.

Established in 2002, PlantWeb University offers its 40,000 registered users more than 75 online courses as well as a library of articles and white papers.
