California-based Dust Networks (www.dustnetworks.com), a provider of standards-based intelligent wireless sensor networking (WSN), won the Amec Award for Innovation and Excellence in SMEs from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE, www.icheme.org) at an awards ceremony in London. The award recognizes Dust Networks for its innovation in wireless sensor networking and development of the Time Synchronized Mesh Protocol™ (TSMP). TSMP is a foundational building block of WirelessHART™, the processing industry”s first standard for intelligent wireless sensor networking. Dust”s standards-based WSN systems deliver wire-like reliability while offering the economics of wire-free sensor deployment in process monitoring and control applications.

The IChemE awards ceremony is designed to highlight cutting-edge innovation and excellence in chemical engineering and coincides with the Institution celebrating the 50th anniversary of receiving its Royal Charter status. The event was attended by over 400 chemical and process engineers and guests at London’s Hilton Metropole hotel.
