The Department of Energy ( and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM,, the nation”s largest industrial trade association, officially joined forces to meet U.S. manufacturers” energy efficiency challenges through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU reinforces a joint commitment towards maximizing industrial energy efficiency, and implements an outreach effort to merge DOE”s portfolio of technologies and energy-saving resources with NAM”s connection to 13,000 member companies.

Specific activities of the partnership include combining existing tools, resources, and technical information into a central catalog of resources for manufacturers, providing support for implementing energy management programs and creating a Web site portal to resources and services.
