The Fieldbus Foundation announced its 2011 General Assembly will be hosted on March 9-10 in Mumbai, India. Mumbai was selected as the site of this year”s General Assembly, due to its status as one of the world’s fastest growing industrial regions and the high demand for the FOUNDATION communication protocol in India, according to the Fieldbus Foundation.
The event, which will be hosted at the JW Marriott Hotel Mumbai, is themed, “Achieving Operational Excellence with FOUNDATION Technology,” and will include an end user-oriented agenda consisting of fieldbus project case studies and tabletop exhibitions. The event is expected to draw over 350 attendees.
The program on Wednesday, March 9, will feature updates on the latest FOUNDATION fieldbus developments and technical presentations by fieldbus end-users. The day will conclude with a reception for all attendees, and the Fieldbus Foundation will conduct its annual business meeting on Thursday, March 10.
The keynote speaker for the General Assembly will be Mr. P Mahajan, technical director for Engineers India Limited (EIL), an engineering consultancy for oil & gas, metallurgy, infrastructure, and other industrial projects. Mr. Mahajan joined EIL in 1982 in its Engineering Division (Instrumentation & Control) and subsequently worked in the company’s project and technical divisions. He holds a degree in Electronics & Electrical Communication from Punjab Engineering College, Punjab University, Chandigarh, India.
