The HART Communication Foundation is asking end-users and manufacturers to nominate their plant or customer’s plant for a 2011 Hart Plant of the Year Award.

The HART Plant of the Year is presented to end-user companies in the process automation industry to recognize the exceptional application of HART Communication technology for process measurement and control. The deadline to receive nominations has been extended to August 15.

“We are seeking a plant that has taken the capabilities of HART instruments beyond configuration and calibration or is using real-time diagnostics and process variables in HART-enabled devices integrated with control, information, asset management or safety systems,” said Ron Helson, HART Communication Foundation executive director, in a prepared statement. “Selection of the HART Plant of the Year is based on a plant’s use of HART Communication not on the size of the installation.”

The HART Communication Foundation is the technology owner and standards organization for the HART Communication Protocol with a global membership of more than 250 companies.

Nomination forms and award details are available at www.hartcomm.org.
