Phoenix Contact’s line of intrinsic safety signal isolators link control and field level devices in hazardous locations to the safe area. The 12.5 mm-wide MACX Analog Ex product range comprises one- and two-channel intrinsically safe isolators. These modules use a T-bus connection system for power bridging. They transmit measured values and control signals that are electrically isolated and offer high accuracy. The line covers basic functions such as analog-in, analog-out, digital-in, digital-out, and temperature. As a link between control and field level devices, MACX Analog Ex interfaces serve as a safe power limitation in intrinsically safe circuits in potentially explosive areas, up to Class I, Div. 1 and Zone 0. Additionally, they offer high accuracy when transmitting measured values and control signals that are electrically isolated. Due to their SIL calculations, according to EN 61508-1, the modules can be designed into safety-related industrial automation applications. Approvals include ATEX, IECEx, UL CID2, HART, and GL (Germanischer Lloyds).
