The Colorado Engineering and Experiment Station Inc. (CESSI, www.ceesi.com) announced its upcoming seminar schedule. The company will be covering such topics as measurement uncertainty, ultrasonic flow measurement, and fluid flow measurement. The schedule is as follows:

Measurement Uncertainty Training Course in Barcelona
May 4-5, 2006 before ASME-IGTI Turbo Expo
Registrations are due by April 1, 2006
This course is specifically designed for students from the turbomachinery industries. Students will find the material applicable to both calibration and manufacturing processes. The material is based on CEESI”s 40 years of experience in the operation of gas and liquid flow calibration facilities. This experience includes the measurement of pressure, temperature, gas composition, and mass as well as the operation of data acquisition systems. The material is example based, the fundamental concepts are taught by exploring a variety of real-world applications. The necessary statistical concepts are reinforced based on numerical simulation. Course topics include: basic methodology, the new “ISO GUM” method, statistical process control (SPC) techniques, Youden analysis to identify uncertainty sources, risk management and pass/fail criteria, traceability and calibration, instrument specifications, equations of state, computer simulation, etc.

Ultrasonic Meter Measurement Course
June 2006 at Estes Park, Colorado (before the Ultrasonic Meter Seminar)
CEESI is offering a three-day ultrasonic meter measurement course, which will combine material at fundamental and advanced levels. The course agenda is divided by subject into modules that will be scheduled in two parallel sessions, popular modules will be offered several times. Some of the topics to be covered include: basic meter operation, fundamental flow concepts, volume corrections, gas properties, basic uncertainty, installation effects, AGA TMC Report 9, calibration & traceability, long-term meter performance, calibrated meter uncertainty, field monitoring, statistical process control, temperature measurement, electronic flow measurement, and meter station design.

2006 Ultrasonic Meter Seminar
June 2006 at Estes Park, Colorado, USA
As with the last two years, the 2006 seminar will be held at the beautiful Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. This sixth annual event should once again bring together a wealth of information, as well as new ideas and new questions regarding flow measurement using ultrasonic meters.
