The American Water Works Association (AWWA, www.awwa.org) is offering a 90-minute webcast seminar on planning, conducting, and verifying proper disinfection of water distribution system pipes and storage facilities. The webcast will be held on Mar. 5 at 1 p.m. EST.

The event will focus on AWWA standards and practices for system disinfection, providing a working knowledge of standards for disinfection and discussion of how to properly complete the disinfection of water distribution system components from an operations perspective. Attendees will learn how to maintain water quality and meet public health requirements.

Speakers will include Michael Wentink, REHS, training and certification officer for the Nebraska Public Water Supply Program; Jeffrey M. Pieper, P.E., assistant superintendent of the Water Distribution Division at the Greater Cincinnati Water Works; and Betsy Reilley-Matthews, Ph.D., senior program manager of Water Quality Assurance at Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.
