Demand for ultrapurification products in Asia will grow by 46 percent over the next four years to reach $3.5 billion by year-end 2012, according to an online report, titled Ultrapure Water: World Markets, by McIlvaine Company (www.mcilvainecompany.com). McIlvaine predicts the Asian market for ultrapurification products will hit $2.4 billion in 2008.

McIlvaine says one area of particular interest is the production of flat-panel displays, where ultrapure water is critical to manufacturing. As such, he says that as the demand for flat-panel screens continues to rise, so too will demand for ultrapure water.
