Diemme Filtration Acquired by Passavant-Geiger
Passavant-Geiger, part of the Bilfinger Berger Facility Services Group, acquired a majority stake in Diemme Filtration, a company specialized in filter-press manufacturing and solid-liquid separation technologies.
Bilfinger Berger Facility Services is a provider of integrated facility services in Europe and has subsidiaries in more than 30 countries. Passavant-Geiger is focused mainly on environmental technology and wastewater treatment for public sector clients.
In October 2011, the filter division of DIEMME was spun off to become Diemme Filtration. Diemme Filtration is active in 42 countries. In addition to Europe, key markets include India, Russia, and various South American countries with a focus on industrial clients. Passavant-Geiger will retain the management team of Diemme Filtration.
DS Waters to Acquire the Standard Companies
In other water filtration news, DS Waters of America Inc. and The Standard Companies Inc. signed an asset purchase agreement whereby DS Waters will acquire substantially all of the assets of Standard. The transaction is expected to close in late March subject to regulatory clearance.
DS Waters, a large U.S. provider of home and office bottled water delivery service, with a growing presence in office coffee services and water filtration systems, says it will benefit from The Standard Companies” nationwide distribution network, which provides brewed coffee and tea beverages, equipment, condiments, water filtration systems, and related items to offices, restaurants, and food service organizations throughout the United States.
Standard operates three business units: Standard Coffee Service, StandGuard Quality Water Assurance, and Relyant Coffee Equipment Services. StandGuard, established in 1991, provides filtered water solutions to commercial customers, and Relyant Coffee Equipment Services has provided equipment installation and maintenance services for brewed beverage equipment, as well as water filtration dispensing units, since 2009.
DS Waters will assume management of the nationwide delivery for all Standard Coffee customers.
Passavant-Geiger says the acquisition of Diemme Filtration is intended to strengthen Passavant-Geiger”s product range in the area of solid-liquid separation and filtration technologies.
