Porous Metal Filter for Medical Applications

Mott's new filtration media will support sterilizing grade filtration applications to meet ASTM F838-05 specifications for bacterial retention. This all-metal, patent-pending membrane will be available in 316L stainless steel as well as titanium. Mott’s porous metal media are designed for precise consistency and durability. Some products currently utilizing porous metal include various implantable devices, filters to prevent plugging of catheters, drug delivery devices, medical instrumentation, sparging devices for cell culture processing, and gas flow restrictor devices for gas delivery in life-critical systems. Porous metal can be autoclaved, sterilized or completely recycled; an important attribute as we look for ways to conserve the consumption of resources, energy and space used for landfills.
