Dry-Running Mechanical Seal

Sharpe's RD dry-running mechanical seals for mixers, agitators and reactors meet the ASME-BPE 2009 standards for cleanability. The seals were developed for sanitary applications where product contamination from barrier fluids is unacceptable. Capable of handling a 0.150” total runout, the fully BPE-compliant seals feature a proprietary carbon blend, which virtually eliminates face squeal. The seals feature sloped internal surfaces to facilitate drainage and enhance cleanability, including the debris well flush ports. Internal metallic parts exposed to product have a 20 Ra finish with optional electro-polishing and all components are either FDA approved or USP Class VI rated.
