Birko Acquires Chad Co. to Expand its Equipment Division

Birko, a provider of food safety solutions to the protein industry, has announced it will acquire Chad Co., a Kansas-based manufacturer specializing in automated washing and pasteurizing systems for meat harvesting and processing operations.

Chad will become Chad Equipment, LLC, a Birko company. Birko will be combining its current equipment division into Chad Equipment, LLC, headquartered in Olathe, Kansas.

According to Birko, this agreement will allow the two food safety companies in the protein industry to team up to offer integrated solutions in both chemistry and equipment bringing together Birko’s processing, intervention and sanitizing chemistry and Chad's innovation in harvest and processing equipment.

Under the terms of the agreement, Chad Co. President Mike Gangel will stay on as Chad's president for an extended period of time.
